My name is Jaquelin Klingman and I live in downtown Portland, but I am originally from Seattle. I have lived in Portland for over a year and I am a student at Portland State University. I am majoring in Health Sciences and Spanish and I plan on moving onto either medical or veterinary school. I love all types of animals and grew up living in a house with cats, dogs, fish, birds, and gerbils. I have had some experience with pet’s with health issues; my dog back at home in Seattle, a Pomeranian named Toby has hip-dysplasia so I have had to help care for him, my stepmom’s cat named Hugo is diabetic so I have helped give him his medication and insulin shots, and a dog I regularly watch, a 13 year old lab/pit-bull mix named Mocha has severe arthritis. The pets I have living with me now are three cats and a dog. My dog, Milo is one year old Australian/German Shepherd mix so he is on the large side and I adopted him as a puppy so I have been through all the house breaking, crate training, leash training, etc. My cat Emily is thirteen years old and was previously my mom’s. My two kittens, Che and Garbanzo are six months old and have required a lot of care. I rescued them from a riverbank and they had many health problems so I had to be at the vet multiple times a week, and as a result I have learned how to give various kinds of medications to cats. My love for helping and caring for people and animals drives everything I do in my life and I hope to make the best out of your pet’s experiences and eventually make my passion, my career.
