When to Hire a Petsitter

Petsitting? An indulgence? You bet!
Chances are, when you hear the word petsitter your mind automatically goes to vacation. And you wouldn't be the only one. Travel is obviously a popular occasion to use a petsitter, but it's not the only occasion out there.
Here are a few other situations where both you and your pet could benefit from having a super sitter swoop into your home for some one-on-one time with your pet.
VACATION
As much as you'd love for Fido to frolic down the beach with you, it's difficult to jet set across the tropics with a creature who is traumatized by airplanes and isn't always welcome in hotels. To solve the problem, you can hire a petsitter who will give your pet the personal attention and care that he deserves while allowing him to remain in a safe, comfortable, familiar environment - well below cruising altitude.
WORK DAY / BUSINESS
Especially on days when your 9-5 morphs into 7-8 (that's 13 hours, folks), a petsitter can relieve some of your worries - not to mention your pet's bladder. When you can predict that your work hours are going to extend past your pet's come-home-before-I-get-into-the-garbage time, you can hire a petsitter to walk, feed and spoil your pet to hold him over until you can get back to the house.
SICK PET
Whether your pet is simply feeling under the weather or it's something more serious, a petsitter - especially one who specializes in sick pets - can help you care for this more dependent creature. The petsitter can tend to your pet's every need when you can't, from administering medicine to keeping close by during naps to monitoring how often he needs takes a drink. It might not be the most cutesy job out there, but it's certainly an important one.
INJURED OWNER
It's tough to walk a dog when you have, say, a heavy cast on your leg from your ankle to your thigh - it's unfortunate, but injuries can happen. Should you become injured, a petsitter can help care for your pet and take him on walks while you recover, so you don't have to stress out your body and further hinder the healing process.
SUPPLEMENTATION
So, your puppy loves your mom. Every time Mom comes over to visit, there's jumping and squealing and a mad rush to get the pup out the door before there are any little accidents. But despite this adorable bond, Mom might need a break from her two-week-long petsitting stint while you're away on business. A petsitter is a great way to supplement your family member's devotion and work around their schedule to accommodate their other responsibilities while quality ensuring care for your pet.
